Why Visit Bryon Bay

Byron Bay on the North Coast of NSW is one of the world’s most famous coastal towns thanks to the Hemsworth brothers, but it is also home to gorgeous beaches, rainforests and coastal walking trails, amazing marine life and a delicious food scene. Below are our favourite highlights of Byron Bay.

Stunning Beaches and Nature

Byron has a beach for everyone, whether you are looking to catch some waves, walk your dog,  or looking for a nice family spot. Visit Cape Byron, the easternmost point of Australia and snorkel in the crystal clear waters or go a bit further and dive off Julian Rocks and swim up close to dolphins and whales.

The stunning walking trails will take you to the Cape Bryon Lighthouse through ancient rainforests and around Wollumbin (Mount Warning). There is also the option to explore the region on horseback, riding along the beach and through local woodland.

Shopping and Markets

Byron Bay is home to many designers, artists and creatives, making it a great place to find a one of a kind piece. Visit world-renowned fashion boutique Spell or any of the independent stores for fashion and homewares. Every weekend there is also a market showcasing local produce and wears.

Food Scene

You can find one of New South Wales best food scenes in Byron Bay, including vegan and vegetarian delights, delicious Mexican, fresh seafood, and even cooking schools. Spend the day at The Farm, a working property with a restaurant, bakery and classes. The Byron General Store has all of the Vegan treats you could ask for, or if you are looking to feast on Seafood try the Balcony Bar. The vibrant markets are also a great place to pick up some fresh food and produce, the Farmers Market is held every Thursday. Bryon Bay also has a wide range of locally made beverages on offer as well including the Byron Bay Brewery, Cape Byron Distillery and The Bucha Shed for alcoholic Kombucha!

Byron Bay is an 8hr drive from Sydney and 2hrs from Brisbane, or you can fly into the Ballina Airport from Sydney which is just over half an hour from the town centre. View our Bryon Bay accommodation packages below or contact our Specialist Travel Consultants to book your personalised itinerary.
